"When some of my friends have asked me anxiously about their boys, whether they should let them hunt, I have answered, yes - remembering that it was one of the best parts of my education - make them hunters."

Henry David Thoreau, 1854

Rifle Colorado IDPA Match March 21-09

Shooters:

Spring is almost here - and will be by the time the March 21st IDPA Match gets underway this Saturday at the Rifle Sportsman's Club.
Some important particulars:
  • Sign-ups at 9:30 am; match starts at 10:00 am with a brief safety meeting.
  • Bring a concealment garment.
  • Four stages are planned with a $20.00 entry fee.
  • Be prepared to show proof of IDPA membership. (Does not apply to first-time shooters.)
But wait, there's more!
Per Match Director Terry Veldboom, an extra bay will be set up for the Classifier, and up to six shooters will be allowed to shoot for classification. Those shooting the Classifier will not be able to shoot the regular match, and will also pay the $20.00 fee. Terry will choose shooters "eligible" to shoot the Classifier based on either your likely ability to shoot at least a Marksman classification or likely ability to move up in your classification. (If you are not able to reasonably demonstrate a Marksman's level of proficiency, there is no reason to shoot the Classifier. You are essentially a Novice level shooter.)
By the way, you must be an IDPA member to shooter the Classifier!
If you would like to shoot the Classifier and need more information, feel free to call Terry at (970) 379-0237 or email him at terob3@sopris.net.
Best regards,
Ken Andrews
