NRA, Alaskans slam Obama assault weapons ban proposal

Attorney General Eric Holder says the assault weapons ban is needed again to stop weapons from flowing from US borders into Mexico. The country is currently plagued with such high drug cartel violence state department officials issued a travel warning Friday.



NRA Spokesperson Rachel Parsons, along with AK Machine Gun Association Club Pres. Dave Arieno, point to history. Both characterize as the previous ban as ineffective, and say brining it back would only hurt law-abiding citizens, including subsistence hunters.



Parsons says a new ban would affect guns used for sports shooting, hunting, and self defense, including rifles and handguns.
