"When some of my friends have asked me anxiously about their boys, whether they should let them hunt, I have answered, yes - remembering that it was one of the best parts of my education - make them hunters."

Henry David Thoreau, 1854

“A citizen who shirks his duty to contribute to the security of his community is little better than the criminal who threatens it.” - Robert Boatman

Anti-Gun Senators

I am repeating a post put up by Rick Wagner at his blog THE WAR ON WRONG  and Gene K. on his blog Living the Grand Life.  It is important to contact these legislators.  I suggest something along the line  -

"I strongly oppose the ineffective and fanatical anti-gun bills being pushed through the legislature. I do not think the Colorado legislature has the legal authority to infringe an inalienable right.

I'm a conservative and will probably never vote for you, BUT if you vote to infringe second amendment rights I will provide as much money as possible to defeat you in your next election."

NRA-ILA

The future of our Second Amendment rights lies in the hands of a few key senators in the Colorado Senate.  If you do not contact these elected officials in opposition to these ineffective and fanatical anti-gun bills being pushed through the legislature, your firearms freedoms could be stolen away in a matter of days.  The Senate is expected to hear the following anti-gun legislation the first week of March:
House Bill 1224 – Bans magazines with a capacity greater than 15 rounds. (Passed by a 34-31 vote in the House.)

House Bill 1226 – Repeals current law allowing individuals with a concealed carry permit to carry a firearm for self-defense on a college or university campus. (Passed by a 34-31 vote in the House.)

House Bill 1228 – Imposes a “gun tax” for a background check when purchasing a firearm. (Passed by a 33-32 vote in the House.)

House Bill 1229 – Criminalizes the private transfer of a firearm. (Passed by a 36-29 vote in the House.)

The Senate is our last line of defense to stop these unconstitutional measures from being sent to Governor John Hickenlooper (D) for his signature!

Please call, email, and use social media to contact the legislators listed below, as they will play a vital role in determining whether or not these unconstitutional measures pass during the first week of March.  Hold your legislators accountable by asking how they plan to vote on this legislation.
